el pez

the old year flames out

and collides with our hunger

for a brand new start
(A haiku inspired by the burning fish Rick made for the annual Mayfield New Year's Eve party)

Kokopelli Moondance

I'm sharing this poem I posted on my husband's blog a while back. I'm feeling some kokopelli-ish mischief in the air today.

Fertility god

is also a great trickster

goes to show you that

new life, whether crops

or babies, requires a sense

of mischief, humor

Shantih

Sanskrit for peace. In
Hebrew, shalom. In Irish,
siochan. Shhh. Listen.
Now that the wonderful madness of napowrimo is over, I can turn my attention to sculptingthemetal'sedge, Rick's metal sculpture blog. It's a nice place to visit to view beautiful metal sculpture and some short verses by yours truly. Shantih!

Metal Sculpture Blog

As many of you know, I manage a blog for my husband, who is a metal sculptor. The art is supplied by him, and the writing is supplied by me. I've got a link to that blog on the lower right side of this blog, but I thought I would formally introduce it to you! If you're interested in seeing some of Rick's work (and some small verses by me), please check it out!
